Vasuma glasses were created by three friends in 2005. Jan Vana, Lars Malmsten and Steffen Sundelius decided to create an alternative eyewear brand to challenge traditional brands. Offering eyewear inspired by the best of the vintage 50s and 60s eras seasoned with a modern twist. All mixed in the blender together with the inspiration of popular culture to create glasses that enhance the identity and personality of the wearer.
Eyewear is based in the historic center of Stockholm. Warehouse, showroom and office all fit into the four-story, 15th-century residence a block away from the Swedish Royal Castle.
Vasuma glasses consist of a unisex collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. As a tribute to all those who have been bullied for their visual impairment and have been called "glasögonorm" (the Swedish term for "four eyes" and also the actual Swedish name for the spectacled cobra snake), we have chosen to call our models after snakes. In short, Vasuma is the revenge of the glasögonorm.”
